It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Ward Martin, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world peacefully at her residence on February 16, 2026. Born on April 2, 1946, in Tabor City, North Carolina, Pat was a radiant light in the lives of those who knew her. She was 79 years old.
A devoted caregiver in the Assisted Living Health Care industry, Pat poured her heart into her work, caring for others as if they were her own family. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her profession; she was known for her warmth and kindness, always ready with a listening ear and a comforting presence.
Pat was most proud of her family, treasuring every moment spent with them. She was married to her loving husband, Dennis Martin, for 61 wonderful years, a testament to their enduring love. Together, they raised their children, creating a home filled with affection and laughter. Pat's children, including Tammy Queen, John Martin, and Mylinda George, were her pride and joy, and she cherished her role as a grandmother, creating lasting memories and bonds with her grandchildren, Tiffany Queen, Madison (Noah) McWhirter, Thomas Queen, Mykayla (Lane) Hill, and Mallory (Jay) Bradshaw, great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Kye, Bradley, Audrey, Zachary (due any day) and another baby on their way; and her sisters-in-law, Nettie, Linda and Carolyn Ward, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Traveling brought Pat joy, allowing her to explore new places and create lasting memories. However, it was the time spent with family that she treasured the most. Her vibrant personality and loving nature left an indelible mark on everyone she met. She had a gift for making others feel special and valued, a quality that will be missed immensely.
Pat joined her beloved parents, Leamon and Lillie Johnson Ward, and her brothers, Fred, Clyde, Charlie, Earl, Jerry, and Don Ward, Sr. and a great grandchild, Andrew, in eternal rest. Their memories are forever etched in the hearts of those who remain, and her legacy of love will continue through her family and friends.
