Peggy Remonia Melton

Peggy Remonia Melton, 84, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2023 with her loving family and friends by her side.

She was born on February 3, 1939 in Gaston County to the late James and Lona Mae Melton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Paul Melton, David Francum, and Ronnie Francum; and her sister, Brenda Jewell.

Peggy was a God-fearing woman and hard worker. She was a genuine caregiver who cared for everyone she knew and loved and spent her career as an LPN. Most of all, her entire life was dedicated to loving her family, her children, grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. Peggy leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Eddie Williams and Jeff Williams; daughter, Holly Williams (Steve); brother, Glenn Melton (Lois); sister, Faye Parker; grandchildren, Stevie Williams (Tiffany), Courtney Tignor (Casey), Lauren Black (Justin), Jordan Williams, Hannah Williams, Woody Edwards, Parker Williams; and her great-grandchildren, Cullen Tignor, Cruz Tignor, Creed Tignor, Case Tignor, Lilly Edwards, Steven Thomas Williams, Vivian Williams, and Ellie-Kate Black.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday November 1, 2023 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Mr. Steve Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Long Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Dallas.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Country Time Inn for the wonderful care they provided to Peggy and her family.
