Peggy Burton Sorrells

Dallas – Peggy Burton Sorrells, 91, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2023 with her family by her side.

Peggy was born in Easley, South Carolina on May 20, 1932 to the late Ollie Brooks Burton. In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her grandson, Houston Patterson.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Peggy enjoyed shopping, reading and working puzzles. She also enjoyed phone calls to her family and friends, visiting and flowers. In her younger days she enjoyed sewing and was a wonderful seamstress.

Peggy worked at Snipes Shoe Repair for over 50 years before retiring.

Peggy is survived by her husband William “Bud” Sorrells; her children, Ricky Patterson (Joyce), Mike Patterson (Lynn), Pam Patterson and a stepson, Lyn Sorrells (Cheryl); grandchildren, Amber Hampton (Ashley), Paige Denton (Steven), Nathan Patterson (Magaly), and Eli Patterson; great grandchildren, Jake Denton, Christian Denton and Kadence Hampton.

The family will receive friends at First United Methodist Church, Dallas from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2023 prior to the service at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Billy Ervin officiating.

Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dan Britton, Don Britton, Kyle Britton, Ashley Hampton, Nathan Patterson and Steven Denton.
