Phyllis Ballard Warnock

Dallas – Phyllis Ballard Warnock, 84, entered into heaven on May 6, 2023. She passed peacefully at Robin Johnson House with her family by her side.

Phyllis was born in Newton (Catawba County), North Carolina to the late James Omer Ballard, Sr. and Nadine Painter Ballard Smith. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jonathan David Warnock; her step father, William Arthur Smith; siblings, Reba Ballard Drye and Jimmy Ballard.

She was a member of the First Assembly of God, Gastonia, where she was active for many years. She and Ed were married in Mt. Holly, and raised their family at Little Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church, Lowell, NC.

There was not any artistic endeavor that she could not tackle. From water-color art to cake design and sewing, she excelled at them all.

She is survived by her husband of almost 64 years, Edwin Warnock; her daughters, Karen Hicks (Barry), Kristin Harrington (Mike). Mary Ann Shope Burris (James); her grandchildren, Hannah Hicks Braddock (Austen), Rebekah Harrington, Colin Harrington (Haley), Claire Hicks Gouch (Trey), Trey Burris, Trevor Burris (Marissa); great grandchildren, Barron Lee Braddock, Charlotte Rose Braddock and Zoe James Gouch; her siblings, David Ballard (Sarah), Reggie Ballard (Clarise), Delores Ballard Gill (Ronnie)as well as many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at Parkwood Baptist Church on Saturday, May 13th from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at 3:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary with Pastor Mike Rice officiating.

Interment  will be private at Gaston Memorial Park.
