Rachel Goins Greene

Rachel Goins Greene, 60, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Duke University Hospital with her loving family by her side.  Rachel was born in Gastonia on April 18, 1963 and is the daughter of the late Claude and Dorothy Boyd Goins. 

Rachel was a member of Upper Room Tabernacle for over 25 years where she made many lifelong friends.

Rachel was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.  She was a kind soul who  loved helping others.  She will truly be missed by so many.

Rachel is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Rev. Norman Greene; 2 sons, Pedro Suarez (Candy), David Goins (Melissa); 4 daughters, Keesha Lloyd (Alex), Angeline Frazier (Matt), Sasha Plonk (Richard), Angie Greene; 5 brothers, Charles Harris, Roger Goins, Ronnie Goins, Larry Kennedy, David Kennedy; 1 sister, Robin Martin; 16 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive family and friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home, 2916 Union Road, Gastonia.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2023 at Upper Room Tabernacle Church, 107 North Washington Street, Gastonia with Rev. Norman Greene officiating.

Interment will follow at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain  with the Releasing of the Doves.

Pallbearers will be Pedro Suarez, David Goins, Matthew Frazier, Rhylon Frazier, Seth Frazier, Dro Suarez.

Rachel was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ray Goins; sister, Ruejane Goins.
