Randall Benton Moody

Randall Benton Moody, born on August 19, 1966 in Gaston County, North Carolina, has left this world on August 23, 2023, surrounded by loved ones at Atrium - Main. Randall's passing followed a courageous battle with cancer. He was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend to many.

Randall will always be remembered for his vibrant personality and his zest for life. He had an uncanny ability to make those around him feel at ease with his warm smile and infectious laughter. Randall was a fun-loving guy who brought joy to every gathering he attended.

After graduating from North Gaston High School in 1984, where he played baseball and made lasting friendships, Randall embarked on a fulfilling career. He owned and operated Moody Landscaping alongside his brother Jason. Their shared passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces allowed them to build a successful business that served their community for many years.

Beyond work, Randall cherished the simple pleasures in life. He enjoyed the freedom of riding his motorcycle, feeling the wind against his face as he explored new territories. Alongside this adventurous spirit was his love for coaching wrestling. Randall dedicated his time and energy to instilling important values in young athletes through coaching.

Of all the roles Randall embraced throughout his life, being a father brought him the greatest pride and joy. His sons Levi and Eli were the light of his life. Randall took immense pride in watching them grow into the wonderful young men they have become today. He instilled in them values of love, kindness, and determination that will forever guide their paths.

Randall's family meant everything to him. He was a devoted son to  Joyce Davis Moody and the late Harry Benton "Dink" Moody. Their love nurtured him throughout his life. In addition to his mother, and sons Levi (Chelsea) and Eli, Randall is survived by his cherished grandson Sawyer Moody, and his dog, Lucy Lou; she was great company to him; also the mother of his boys, Tamaria Thomas Moody.

He leaves behind his brother Jason and his daughter Casey, his sister Tonya and her son Coby. Randall's family was his foundation, and the bonds they shared were unbreakable.

Randall found solace, love, and companionship in the company of his loyal four-legged friend, Lucy Lou. They embarked on countless adventures together, creating lasting memories that will be cherished forever.
