Robert Samuel Farmer

Robert Samuel Farmer, 77, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2023 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Gaston County, North Carolina on June 3, 1945 to the late Clarence and Ellie Farmer. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Clyde and Randy; and sisters, Sissy, Rosie, and Pearl.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, where he served two tours in Vietnam before retiring after 27 dedicated years. After a career in the military, he kept busy working many different jobs as he was not one to sit around.  He enjoyed going to the beach and traveling on cruises with his family. Anywhere tropical was always his favorite place to go. Robert was a family man and leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who loved him.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ingrid Richter Farmer; his children, Robert J. Farmer (Lynn), Taunia Fascella, Nicole Harwood (Martin); Wonderful Grandchildren, Samuel and Hannah Fascella, Kaitlin and Devin Harwood, Kennedy Rhinehart (Nathan) and Dylan Pendleton; great-grandchildren, Carson and Cooper Rhinehart; sister, Doris Thomas; and brother-in-law, Junior Lambert.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 20^th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with full Military Honors by the U.S. Army and the Gaston County Honor Guard.
