Ronald Herbert Dover

Ronald Herbert Dover, born on May 13, 1942, in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord on July 18, 2025, at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas, North Carolina, surrounded by his loving family.

Ron proudly served in the U.S. Air Force before taking on a successful career in management within the textiles industry. His professional achievements were notable, but it was his dedication to his family that he cherished most. Ron was a devoted husband of more than 60 years, to Mavis Isenhour Dover, with whom he shared many wonderful years.

He was a father to Stephen Dover, and his wife Cheryl; David Dover, and his wife Susan; and Carol Anne McGowan, and her husband Chad. As a grandfather, Ron found immense joy in the lives of his grandchildren: Leah Dover, Austen Dover, Cameron Dover, Madison Ledford, Joseph Weaver, and Emily Weaver. His happiest moments were spent with his great granddaughter, Gabriella Salmeron. Ron is also survived by his sister, Sandy Bridges; cousin, Jimmy Owens; and a special gran dog, Henry.

In his leisure time, Ron enjoyed a variety of hobbies that reflected his love for nature and family. He took pleasure in fishing, hunting, and gardening, as well as bird watching. A true animal lover, Ron found joy in all creatures, large and small. Additionally, he had a keen interest in genealogy, which allowed him to connect with his family's past.

Ronald is predeceased by his parents, Herbert Paul Dover and Annie Mae Sims Dover, as well as his sister, Ava Sue Byers. He will be remembered fondly for his kind spirit, sense of adventure, and the pride he took in his children and grandchildren.
