Maiden – Samuel Monroe Blake, 70, passed away peacefully at Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center on November 9, 2020.
He was born in Lincolnton, NC on February 21, 1950 to the late Johnson and Ruth Friday Blake. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Blake; brothers, George Blake, Johnny Blake, Thomas Blake, and Boyce Blake.
Sam was a Vietnam Army veteran and was employed with AAA Trucking Company before retiring. Sam attended Greater Moore's Chapel AME Zion Church Lincolnton, NC.
Left to cherish his memories is a very special friend and loving mother of his children Emma Farley; his children, Wilbert (Ursula) Farley of Hickory, Michelle Farley of Maiden, Trina (Duray) Clarke of Maiden, Charlene Farley of Newton, Charlotte (Demorrio) Camp of Maiden, Tara Jackson of Iron Station, and Cameo Jackson of Lincolnton; sisters, Donna (David) Tolliver of Lincolnton, Cynthia (Carlos) Woodard of Charlotte, Nancy Catherine Jarrett of Miden, Brenda England of Lincolnton, and Shirley Easter of Lincolnton; brother, James Franklin Blake of Lincolnton.
The family will receive friends 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm Saturday November 14, 2020 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home 2916 Union Road Gastonia. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 pm Saturday November 14, 2020 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home presided by Reverend Vincent Ross.
Burial will be at Maiden City Cemetery, North Carolina.
