Sandra Lee Franklin Norton

Sandra Lee Franklin Norton, 75, entered into heaven on October 30, 2022 at Atrium Health, Main.

Sandra was born January 13, 1947 to the late Ralph Benjamin Franklin and Marie Breedlove Franklin. She was also preceded in death by her son, Paul James Norton and a granddaughter, Heather Marie. She was a retired teacher’s assistant with special need children. Sandra was a member of Firestone Wesleyan Church, Gastonia. She worked for the Gastonia Parks and Recreation for many years. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend.

She is survived by her daughter, Renna Nicole Messer and her ex-fiancée, John Banks and ex-husband Jeffery Messer; her grandsons Joshua Collin Norton and Caleb Dean Norton; and her great grandson, Caleb Dean Norton, Jr.; adopted grandson, James Knox; as well as her dear friend, Nora, along with many other dear and wonderful friends..

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 pm., Friday, November 4, 2022 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home. Celebration of Life graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm at Gaston Memorial Park, Willow section with the releasing of the doves with Pastor Don Avore officiating.
