Sandra Lynn Queen, 70, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Gaston County on February 3, 1956 to the late Fred Sr. and Betty Queen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Queen, Jr; her step-daughter, Angela Howard; and special aunt, Aileen Pierce.

Sandy had an exciting career working for the Gastonia Police Department as a 911 dispatcher and for CaroMont as a CNA and Unit Secretary. She enjoyed cooking, reading books, and spending time with her family. Most of all she loved her children and granddaughter.

She is survived by her children, Tiffany Queen and Thomas Queen; granddaughter, Nevaeh Queen; sister-in-law, Tammy Queen; sister, Vickie Queen Wisniewski (Robert); and adopted daughter, Tonya Gragg (Jeremy).

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Zion Baptist Church, 2437 Propst Street, Gastonia, North Carolina 28056. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Leo Kuykendall officiating. 

Family and friends will be receiving friends at the home, 4232 Dawnwood Drive, Gastonia, NC 28056.

Memorial offerings may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
