Sherry Hargrave Lovingood

Lincolnton – Sherry Hargrave Lovingood, 73, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.  

Sherry was born in Royston, Georgia on August 27, 1949 to the late Gross Carson Hargrave and Margaret Beer Hargrave. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years, Randall Ray Lovingood.

Sherry and her late husband Randall owned and operated Lovingood Tax for 35 years. She was a dedicated member of Zion Baptist Church in Gastonia.

She is survived by her daughter Melissa Lovingood and her husband Reggie Graham; son, Jeff Pearson; brother, Mike Hargrave; grandchildren, Seth Lovingood and wife Cassidy, Madison Ellis, Patience, Allyssa, and Kendall Pearson; nephews, Brian, Timothy, and Michael Hargrave; and her best friends, Sandra Hargrave and Teresa Hargrave.

The family will receive friends at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home on Friday December 16, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Withers and Whisenant Chapel with Pastor Leo Kuykendall officiating. Entombment will follow at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City.

Pallbearers will be, Kendall Pearson, Chris Keever, Ike Williams, Jr., Michael Hargrave, Brandon Lowrance and Justus Word.
