Gastonia – Sherry Galloway Essary, 60, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle of cancer on May 5, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Towns County, Georgia on November 27, 1960 to the June Reece Galloway and the late Harold Killian Galloway. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Todd Galloway; and her beloved grandparents, Connie and Frank Galloway; Lorena and T.J. Reece, aunt and uncle, Barbara and James Galloway.
Sherry was a graduate of Hunter Huss High School and UNC Greensboro. She was a kind and compassionate person who loved all animals; especially dogs and cats. Sherry was a member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her loving mother, June Reece Galloway; her brother, Michael Galloway; nieces and nephews, Trey, Logan, Madison and McKenzie; sister in law, Dede Galloway, Uncles, William Galloway and Terry Reece (Courtney); as well as numerous cousins.
Private Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 10th at Gaston Memorial Park, Mausoleum C with Reverend Chip Sloan officiating.
Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of Gaston County, 306 S. Columbia Street, Gastonia, NC 28054 and/ or Animal League of Gaston County, 425 West Franklin Blvd., NC 28052.
