Sidney William Brown

Ranlo – Sidney William Brown, 71, passed away September 24, 2022, with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Gaston County on November 13, 1950 to the late Eric & Beatrice Brown. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Mark L. Brown and his grandson, Brayden L. Frazier.

Sidney was a faithful member and elder at One Accord Church. He enjoyed picking his guitar and listening to bluegrass. Sidney was a former member of the Ranlo Volunteer Fire Department and former Chairman of the Board of Ranlo Fire & Rescue. He loved God, his family, and made many happy memories with his family.

Left to cherish Sidney’s memory is his wife of 50 years, Sherry Brown; sons, Eric Frazier (Jolene), Sid Brown (Christina), Ben Brown; brothers; Ricky Brown (Bobbie) and Rudy Brown; Shane Brown (Christy); sister, Angela Thornburg (Larry); brother-in-law, Butch Robinson (Rhonda) special granddaughter, Brianna Brown; special niece, Kim B. Lane; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday October 1, 2022 at One Accord Church, 115 West Ridge Street, Gastonia, NC 28052 with Pastor Zach Plemmons, Pastor Keith Walker, and Pastor Paul Lane officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to One Accord Church Children’s Christmas Benefit, a project that was close to Sidney’s heart.
