Sonja Deleigh Burgess

Dallas – Sonja Deleigh Burgess, 54, passed away on November 8, 2022 at her residence.  

Sonja was born in Gaston County on October 10, 1968 to the late Darrell Burgess, Sr. and Doris Wooten.

Sonja enjoyed reading, singing, and fishing with her son Joshua. She was also a good cook and loved to spend time with her family. Sonja leaves behind many happy memories.

Those left to cherish her memory is her sons, Joshua Evans and fiancé Heather, and Justin Gholson; brother, Darrell Burgess, Jr.; sisters, Michelle Banik and Donna Edwards; and her grandchildren, Lexi, Chevy, Eli, and Daxton.
