Stanley "Stan" Carroll Sims

Stanley “Stan” Carroll Sims, 84, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Levine and Dickson Hospice House, Huntersville, NC with his loving family by his side.  Stan was born in Rutherford County, NC on November 13, 1938 and is the son of the late Robert Sims and Mattie Saine Sims.  Stan was also preceded in death by his son, Adrian Sims; daughter-in-law, Naoko Sims;  6 brothers, ; 5 sisters,    

Stan was of the Lutheran Faith.  He enjoyed playing golf and was a former member of the Gaston County Seniors Golf Association.  He is a member of the Gaston Masonic Lodge #263, Dallas, a member of the Oasis Shrine Temple in Charlotte and a member of the Lorraine Chapter of Eastern Star #169.

Stan spent several decades involved in Real Estate Investments and Car Sales.  In his later years, he really enjoyed watching and feeding birds.  He had many feeders placed outside the windows so he could see his feathered friends.

Stan was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to everyone.  He always had a smile for everyone.  He will truly be missed by so many.

Stan is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Edith Gettys Sims; son, Mark Sims and wife, Karen; two brothers, Ernest Sims of Forest City, NC,  Robert Sims of Rutherfordton, NC; four loving grandchildren,  Brandon Sims and wife Michelle, Justin Sims and wife Keshia, Julian Sims and wife Jasna, Sara Martinez and husband Luis; three loving great grandchildren, Jeremiah Sims, Colton Sims, Akira Martinez; Special friends, Raymond Biddix and Tammy Mayes.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Levine and Dickson Hospice House, Huntersville for the compassionate care, love and dignity given to Stanley and for the support and kindness given to the family.
