Stephen Heilig

Cramerton – Stephen Lee Heilig, 65, passed away suddenly July 17, 2022.

 He was born in Gaston County NC, on September 12, 1956 to the late Lewis Lee Heilig and Jean Davis Heilig.

He retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving 20 years. He enjoyed working on classic cars and playing video games. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandson.

Left to cherish Stephen’s memory is his devoted daughter, Sharda Heilig; Grandson, Devin Lee Chandler; his sister, Robbie Hope Heilig and her son, Ashton Heilig; his best friend and cousin, Keith Heilig and his uncle, Theodore and Kathleen Heilig.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service. A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 21, 2022 at First Wesleyan Church, Bessemer City with Reverend Dr. Matt Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Long Creek Church Cemetery, Dallas with full military honors
