Belmont – Symanthia "Cindy" Teaster Cope, 60, passed away on September 30, 2021 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on September 20, 1961 to the late Olin and Jackie Teaster.
Cindy was a loving grandmother that enjoyed making memories with her grandchildren and spending time with her family. Among her many hobbies she enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach, and finishing her many works of art in her coloring books. She and her beloved husband, Mickey, also enjoyed finding new ice cream shops around town.
Left to cherish her memories is her devoted husband of six and a half years, Mickey Cope; sons, Wofford Mathis Jr., Benjamin Mathis, and Derek Mathis; daughters, Misty Teaster, step-daughter Amanda Green (David Green), and step-daughter Christy Cope (David Whitehead); sisters, Tiny Rice, and Tonya Knox; eighteen grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on October 16, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with the releasing of the doves.
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, if you feel the need to stay home, a card or phone call to the family will be appreciated.
