Thomas Matthew Deane

Thomas Matthew Deane passed away on June 22, 2024 with his loving family by his side.  He was born in New York on November 25, 1946.

Thomas was a Retired Master Chief of the United States Navy Seals, proudly holding the Vietnam Service medal as well as 3 Bronze Stars. He was an avid gardener with a prize Elephant Ear reaching over 7 foot tall and being recognized in the Gaston Gazette while living in Dallas NC.  

Thomas enjoyed family times in his recent years, where he shared stories and laughs of times past. As well as taking the time for his own personal spiritual moments as he was an avid Catholic, or even a moment to speak with his closest circle of Sobriety family. He could even be found at times spending time with the neighborhood kids that affectionately knew him as Pop Pop. Thomas will truly be missed by his community, family, friends, and all that encountered his presence. 

 Thomas leaves behind his loving wife Frances LaVonna, his adopted family members and friends. He is proceeded in death by his parents Thomas and Rita, his brother Michael, as well as his adopted parents Jess and Frances Haley. 

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday July 6, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Dallas Baptist Church, 402 West Trade Street, Dallas, NC. Pastor Cooper Short will be officiating.
