Troy Thomas Jenkins

Troy Jenkins, a proud United States Air Force veteran and devoted father of three, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2023, at the age of 92.

Troy was born in 1930 in Gastonia, NC. He was a member of the graduating Class of 1948 from Gastonia High School.  Troy was a devout Christian and a member of his local church. He was also a loving husband and father.

Troy was preceded in death by his parents Henry Roosevelt Jenkins and Mary Evelyn Pasour; his step-father Fanning Robinson; his brothers Bob Jenkins, Ralph Jenkins, and Joe Robinson; and his sister Jenny Ruth Childers.  

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Christine, as well as his three children, Debbie (Arthur), Alan, and Neil. Other extended loving family include:  Wayne Wright and Carlos Flores-Santiago; his brother Gene Robinson (Libby); his sisters Barbara Mincey, Mary Bumgardner, and Beverly Crumbley; his sister-in-law Glenda Robinson.  Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Troy will be remembered for his kind heart, his sense of humor, and his love of family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive visitors at Evangel Assembly of God (Main Sanctuary), 625 Neal Hawkins Road, Gastonia, NC, 28056 from 10 to 11 o’clock in the morning Tuesday May 30th 2023, followed by a memorial service.  Thereafter, mourners are welcomed to join the family for a graveside service at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 South New Hope Road, Hillcrest Ext 2, Gastonia, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either Evangel Assembly of God’s Playground Fund or the charity of their choice.
