Gastonia - Trudie Webb Elliott, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on September 18, 2023, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, North Carolina. She was born on October 28, 1960, in Gaston County. Trudie's vibrant spirit and loving nature touched the lives of everyone she encountered.
Trudie dedicated 23 years of her life to working as a flight attendant for American Airlines. With a passion for traveling embedded in her soul, she cherished every aspect of her career. Exploring new destinations and meeting people from all walks of life brought her immense joy. Trudie possessed an innate curiosity and thirst for knowledge that led her to read 3 or 4 books per week. This voracious reader found solace and inspiration within their pages.
Above all else, Trudie cherished her family. The bond she shared with them was unbreakable — a testament to the depth of her love. Her husband of 38 years, Perry Elliott, stood by her side through every triumph and challenge. Together they created a lifetime of cherished memories filled with love and laughter. Trudie's wonderful daughter, Skylar M. Elliott, was the light of her life and brought immeasurable pride and joy into hers and Perry's world.
Trudie's radiance extended beyond her immediate family to embrace her sisters Cathy Rushing and husband, Tony and Marchele Hogue and husband, Ritchie. Together, they shared countless joyful moments steeped in love and support. Trudie held deep gratitude for the many wonderful friends who enriched her life through their unwavering companionship.
Known for her fun-loving nature, Trudie had an infectious energy that brightened any room she entered. Her sparkling personality left an indelible mark on those blessed to have known her.
In addition to her spirited personality and flourishing career, Trudie was immensely proud of her accomplishments. Traveling the world while working for American Airlines allowed her to satisfy her wanderlust and broaden her horizons. The memories she created during those adventures will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Trudie was preceded in death by her parents, Bee Webb and Edna Jones Webb, as well as four brothers, Walter, Colin, Leon, and Michael Webb. While they are no longer physically present, their legacy lives on in the hearts of those who mourn Trudie's passing.
Although our hearts ache with grief at Trudie's departure from this world, let us find comfort in the memories we shared with her. Her vibrant spirit will continue to inspire us to live life to the fullest, just as she did until her last breath.
The family will receive friends from 11:00a.m. until 12:00 Noon, Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home, 2916 Union Road, Gastonia, North Carolina, A Memorial service will follow at 12:00, Noon in the Chapel with Reverend Raymond Johns officiating.
