Trudy Clubb Bates

Dallas – Trudy Elizabeth Clubb Bates, 71, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2023 at Robin Johnson House surrounded by her loving family.

Trudy was born on October 8, 1951 to the Shirley Oates Moose and the late John W. Clubb, Sr.

Trudy was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church; she was a member of the choir and served on many different committees.  She loved dancing and singing with her husband James. She was the glue that made it all stick for the family and was very much the matriarch.  Trudy served as a P.E. Teacher for Gaston County Schools and Virginia for over 38 years. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. Trudy was a dedicated wife, mother and Mimi.

Left to cherish their memories of Trudy is her beloved husband of 47 years, James Bates; sons, Britt Bates, Bart Bates and his wife Amy Hudson; daughter, Tanice Middleton and fiancée Bill Landrum; her brother, John W. Clubb, Jr.; sister, Angie Joy and husband Mike; grandchildren, Braesyn, Krystal, Travis, Whitney, Monet, Alana; and her great-grandchildren, Camila, Lyra, Adelia, Ada, and Reece; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday February 1, 2023 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday February 2, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church, in Dallas.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
