Wayne Lamar Weaver

Wayne Lamar Weaver, 81, passed away July 14, 2023 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.

Wayne was born February 15, 1942 in Gaston County, North Carolina to the late William Buford Weaver and Cordella Ollie Houston Weaver. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers, George and Clyde Weaver; sisters Dorothy Hogan, Evelyn Harrill and Velma Angley.

Wayne was a kind, loving, and gentle man who loved God and having a house full of family and friends.

He was an avid fan of and season ticket holder of the Gastonia Honey Hunters baseball team. He loved photography and watching his family grow.

Wayne attended Ashley High School, he served in the United States Army National Guard, and a member of City Church (Bethlehem) in Gastonia.

During his lengthy career he worked for Harwell Enterprises, AMP, C&B  Distributes, and was an owner/ operator of several businesses including G-town Sublime Designs.

Survived by his wife Sherry Blake Weaver of 37 years, sons and daughters-in-law Johnny Weaver and wife Cindy, Nickey Thomas and wife Crystal, Scott Thomas and wife Dena, Travis Weaver and wife Christy, Danny Weaver, brother David Weaver, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Visitation will be held Wednesday July 19th at City Church, 3100 City Church St., Gastonia at 2 p.m. Service will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Dickie Spargo  officiating.

In Lieu of flowers or personal donations, please donate to City Church Dollar Club in care of the church.
