William "Bill" Paige Walters, Sr. was born on June 8, 1947, in Dallas, North Carolina, and passed away suddenly on July 5, 2025, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. He lived a life filled with love, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community.
Bill, along with his beloved wife Jeanine, who predeceased him, owned and operated Walters' Seafood Carry Out for over 26 years. This establishment not only served the locals but also became an integral part of the community, a testament to Bill's entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to providing for his family.
A proud graduate of Dallas High School's class of 1967, Bill carried with him the values of hard work and perseverance. As an avid fisherman, he found joy in nature, creating memories that will forever be cherished by those who knew him. His passion for old tractors and his skills as a mechanic, affectionately known to many as "Hot Willy," showcased the depth of his interests and talents.
Bill was particularly passionate about giving back to the youth in his community. He actively supported Dixie Youth Baseball and the Boy Scouts of America, contributing to the growth and development of young lives. His heart was especially full when surrounded by his family, as he loved being “Poppy” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a title that filled him with pride and joy.
He leaves behind his children, William P. Walters, Jr. and his wife Aimee, David Walters, and Tonya Walters Bell and her husband Jeffrey. Bill was a devoted grandfather to his beloved grandchildren, including Aubree Bell Williams and her husband Gary, Taylor Walters, Ethan Walters, Breanna Roberts, Brandon Stowe, Baleigh Stowe, and Rylan Walters. Additionally, his legacy continues through his three great-grandchildren, Kellin Cable, Zayne Petty, and Naomi Petty.
Bill is survived by his brothers, Paul Walters, Jr., and Kenneth A. Walters and his wife Francis, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will carry forward the memories of a man who brought laughter and love into their lives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Effie May Walters, Sr., his wife of 50 years, Jeanine Millsaps Walters, his daughter, Amy Lynn Walters, and his brother, Arnold B. Walters. Their void is deeply felt, but the impact they had on all who knew them is everlasting.
A visitation will be held on July 11, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:30 AM to honor Bill's life at Gaston Baptist Church, located at 504 S Gaston St, Dallas, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to GoFundMe for Bill Walters.
Bill’s life was defined by love for his family, friends, and community. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose spirit will continue to inspire those he touched. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him, ensuring that his memory will never fade.
