William Michael Martin, Jr.

William Michael Martin, Jr., 48, passed away on May 3, 2026 in Gaffney, South Carolina. He was born in Asheville, North Carolina on June 20, 1977 to Rebecca Roberts Turner and the late William Michael Martin, Sr.

Michael was a fun-loving husband, father, granddad, son and friend to many. He enjoyed playing pool and riding his motorcycle. His family was everything to him, he always had his dog, Betty White with him. 

Michael, or Mike or Mikey, was a loyal and brutally honest man. No matter who needed help, he was always willing to be there and support them. To those who knew him, you were never in any doubt about his opinions or feelings, but he accepted those he loved regardless of their differences. Michael was dedicated to his children and wife with everything in his heart. He made sure they always came first. His death will leave a hole in many people's lives that will last a lifetime. 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharanda Payseur; children, Lacey Pruett (Jackson), Sara Thornton, Colton Martin, and Caedon Martin; mother, Becky Turner (Davey); siblings, Danny Roberts, Allen Turner, Michelle Smith, and Melissa Mock; and his grandchildren, Adelaide Pruett, Jackson Pruett, Jr and Amber Thornton, his chihuahua, Betty White and many wonderful friends

Family and friends will gather for visitation from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life memorial service will follow at 2:30 pm in the chapel with Mr. Tom Witherspoon officiating and many friends to speak.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kinder Mourn or St. Jude’s Research
