Kings Mountain – Wray Douglas Farris, 80, passed away September 13, 2022, at his residence with his loving family by his side.

 

He was born in Cleveland County on April 7, 1942 to the late Walter and Essie Farris. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Alice V. Farris; second wife, Mary Frances Farris; sister Gert Carroll; brothers, Calvin Farris and Ted Farris.

 

Wray was a veteran of the US Army and proudly served in Vietnam. He liked to spend time fishing, swimming, and being outdoors. Wray would take spur-of-the-moment trips to the mountains with his family. He also enjoyed drinking coffee and going shopping. Most of all he loved his grandbabies and made plenty of happy memories spending time with his family.  

 

Left to cherish Wray’s memory is his wife Maybell Farris; daughters, Donna Pacer (Bill) and Tammy Dover (Daniel Scronce); brother, Paul Farris; sisters, Annie Farris and Gail Whitehurst; grandchildren, Audrey Ramsey, A.J. Ramsey, Hannah Ramsey; and great-grandchildren, Shon Ramsey, Landon Brown, Marshall Trampus, and Matthew Trampus. He also leaves behind his beloved fur-baby, Prince.

 

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am Monday, September 19, 2022 at East Kings Mountain Church of God with Pastor John E. Heath officiating.
